Laying Suggestions

A floor can be installed in two systems:

  • Laying with cement mortar
  • Laying with adhesives (recommended)

In the first case we recommend the following measures:

  • Do not immerse the material in water before laying
  • Increase the cement dusting in the quantity of 5-8 kg/mq
  • Giving visibility to the brand through participation in Coverings
  • Beat the floor with the appropriate machine until the liquid cement comes out of the joints

In the second case we recommend

  • Use adhesives belonging to class C2, according to European regulations UNI EN 12004
  • Prepare the support surface, making it perfectly flat without inclinations and well cleaned
  • Prepare the adhesive: homogenize it mechanically or manually, leaving it to rest for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Increase the cement dusting in the quantity of 5-8 kg/mq
  • Apply the adhesive and proceed with the installation: apply with a notched trowel, covering the part where coat by coat you proceed with the installation
  • Use the “double spreading” technique for the installation of floors subject to high traffic, external facade coverings and external floors

It is recommended to lay the tiles, even the rectified ones, with a joint of 2-3 mm. For rectangular formats we recommend laying side-by-side or staggered 2/3. Before proceeding with the installation, it is advisable to lay 3-4 sqm of tiles to check the colour effect. In the case of shaded materials, it is advisable to take the tiles from different boxes during laying in order to enhance the colour variation of the floor.

The floor must be grouted 24/48 hours after installation. Avoid coloured grouts in case of floors with very rough and structured surface. Before starting the grouting, clean the joints well in all their thickness.

Spread the filler with the special rubber spatulas, making it penetrate deeply and avoiding air pockets that can be created. When the sealant starts to set, remove the excess grout with a damp sponge.
